Botching Your Business Cards
Posted by Judy Anne Cavey on July 22, 2010
A business card is a reflection of who you are.
I met with a very pleasant individual today and as we concluded our business, he handed me his card. At first quick glance, I noticed it had an interesting graphic and message. But, when I took a moment later to read the entire business card, I was horrified to see no less than four major spelling errors!
Here are my questions: how could this seemingly intelligent gentleman possibly hand out business cards with so many errors? Didn’t he notice he had made them, any of them? Hasn’t anyone told him, who has received one, of his errors?
If you were handed a business card strewn with typos and grammatical errors, would you kindly inform the person who handed it to you? I hope you would.
The next time I run into my new networking connection, I intend to (nicely) inform him of his faux pas. My correcting his errors will enable him to present himself in a much more professional light. In person, he is a helpful and kind individual. His business card should reflect who he really is.
